INDEPENDENCE DAY

Peace be upon you and Hi.
I'm sorry.
I'm completely forgot to post this entry.

Independence day. Umm... What is Independence day? Why is it so important not only to Malaysia but also to those country who celebrated this day?

Independence Day of Malaysia is  also known as National Day. 31st August 1957, the day when the first chief minister of Malaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman officially declared the Federation of Malaya's independence from British Empire at Merdeka Stadium. Since then, Malaysian will celebrate on this particular date every year.
Every year, new theme is given for this day. Last year’s ‘Sehati, Sejiwa’ (One Heart, One Soul) theme has been retained for this year’s celebration of National Day.

What does National Day means to me? For me, Independence Day is a day full of excitement. Malaysian would celebrate this day by decorate their belonging with our flag. I love to watch flag that been hang on cars, taxis, and flat. In Kota Bharu, the lights will be hanged among Malaysian’s flag. Although it was jammed packed with cars ,my father would always bring us to watch this light at night. It was magnificent to see all the creativeness of people.

As I was born in 90’s, it is long passed the hardship era for Malaysian. I know that it wasn’t really appreciated enough for most us youngster . Malaysian Independence Day, is day that I feel grateful. Thankful to be present in this country. Thankful that the hardship of my ancestor had ended. Thankful for my ancestor to fight for our peace. I really do thankful.

So, what does Independence Day means to you?
